What do you get when you cross one of the worlds most favourite and well-known love stories with Elton John, some gnomes and some black plastic glasses? Gnomeo and Juliet 3D of course, a funny and imaginative contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet. And what a joy it is to have such a classic story reborn for a young audience.

The all-star cast make a perfect ensemble with each of their characters distinctly unique and brilliant. I can honestly say that there isn’t a single actor/actress that I would have preferred, it really is the ideal cast.

Perfect for every member of the family it touches the hearts of children and adults alike. In fact during one scene of the movie a young girl started to cry to her mother because she was that sad about what was happening. I can honestly say she sounded exactly how I was feeling inside!

I won’t tell you whether there is a happy ending or not because not knowing really is half the excitement toward the end. Some wonderful surprises and perfectly timed comedy I would recommend this to all. Though saying that I’d also recommend, if at all possible, that you avoid watching the trailers - I know I wish I had. It is a brilliant movie but unfortunately a few too many of the comedy moments are given away pre-cinema, which is always disappointing.

It’s released in the UK February 11th and I really do advise you all to go and take your sons, daughters, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, or cousins. Trust me, they’ll love you for it!
